May 21, 2010 by Rohin · No Comments · Uncategorized
Today, I continued my work in photoshop. Since I know how the basic tools, filters, and effects work I decided to follow a tutorial. I found a tutorial on how to blur an image but keep the main part of the image the same. I just followed the tutorial and created a picture of my own and I almost finished today.

Integrated Circuit: Computer chip technical name
Math Designer: Create Masks that direct the transistors
Fabrication Facility (Fab): Where the chips are made
Clean Room: where the chips are processed. Cleaner than surgical room. Require “Space Suits”
Processors: Most are made from Silicon
Photo resist: layer on the “wafer”
Wafer: Contains layers and layers of transistors
Bunny Suits: Used in Clean Room to keep from contaminating the chips
Three Sides to Transistor: Source, Drain, Gate
Mask: Layers on the Wafer, Chrome
Microprocessors: made from layers of chemicals
Random Info
- My dad works at INTEL and I used to have one of those spaceman toys but I never knew what the meant
- The definition of Bunny Suit helped explain it to me
- Relating to the bunny suits is the reason they wear them, so that the chips won’t get contaminated when making
- I also didn’t know they used chemicals in the manufacturing process of the wafers/chips
- Silicon is the metal used to create those wafers
- Random fact: Glass is made from Silicon Dioxide
- The wafers actually show errors or fail with a block dot within each part on the wafer
- Intel has a 9-something%

Shutter: Controls the time.
Stop: Measurement of light/time
ISO (Film Speed): Sets standard for how sensitive film is
Depth of Field: The area in front or behind the person that isn’t in focus
Focal Length: How much other info you have from the point of focus. The format of different due to size of length (35mm)
Field of View: The degree of angle you can see:
Wide: that has wide angle of view
Normal: has a field of view equivalent to human perception
Telephoto: zooms in and has a very small field of view

After creating the Capital High School Sports website I realized it had its social impacts. One impact would be providing athletes the ability to improve their abilities in their specific sport. This is significant because it benefits all athletes only in a positive aspect. In other words, by uploading footage of their sporting events, the athletes are able “to watch and learn.” Meaning, they can watch the film to catch their own mistakes, and instances and aspects that have room to improve.
A projected social impact would be the increase of fan curiosity. Hopefully, as more people view the website, it will cause for commotion and interest in attending sporting events. This benefits both the Capital High School society and community along with the athletes who earn further support from their fellow students and fans.

The first person that tested my website was an outside source (outside of gentech), Nghia Tran. He looked at my website and told me it looked great. He said that it would get the job done of providing a way for students to access video footage of their games along with some other spices. He suggested that I add a calendar to the website. I considered that suggestion but I also informed him the CHS website does that already.
Another qualified tester was my friend, Court Schneider-Mckinney. He also said my website was visually appealing but could use some refinement. He thought I should make a School Info page for kids from other high schools that view the CHS sports website. I considered this suggestion and I also believed that was a good idea.
The end user was another friend of mine, Blake Ask. The reason he is a qualified end-user and tester is because he is currently enrolled in Capital High School Baseball. Although he did say that video footage of baseball would not be very helpful as compared to basketball, he did mention that photos of baseball would be awesome. So I took this into mind, that only certain sports actually require footage to help better the abilities of the athletes.
The refinements I made on the website were mainly based off of the suggestions and requests of my testers and end-user. To refresh your memory, one refinement was adding a calendar and another was to add a school info page. I completed both tasks. No other refinements took place to the website. The last suggestion by Blake Ask, about only uploading videos that directly pertained to the benefiting of the athlete’s abilities, is something I have considered for the future.

The solution I chose originally was to create videos and put them on a website. That solution migrated into creating a separate website just for “Capital High School Sports.”
The schedule involved in creating the website was very simple. The process was not very different throughout each week, except for the first.
The building of the website began with a basic template providing by Google sites. After picking the theme, the work commenced. The first step I took was changing the words that already occupied space on the site. After changing it to the most basic navigation listings, I attempted to add in a CHS Cougar logo into the banner. This process took up a couple days
For the three days following the creation of the website, I decided to make my own CHS Sports banner in ADOBE Photoshop. My goal was to make a simple banner that read “Capital High School Sports.” I finished this the following Monday and put this onto the website. Although the website was appealing, it was not visually appealing to me. I felt as if the colors of the website had to represent CHS, and after many attempts of different color schemes and various themes, that specific website met its fate.
From that day on, the it was a new beginning. I created a new website using Google Sites. The theme with the color schemes I picked, represented Capital High School very well!
There were a variety of tools that I used to create this website. Google Sites, was the sole creating tool of my website. I utilized ADOBE Photoshop to create a banner and also edit/tweak photos.
Collection of data came from numerous sources. There was not much data collection to create the website but the pictures and videos came/will come from members of the CNS crew at Capital High School. And some information, for example, the news on the Capital High School Girls basketball team on the homepage came directly from TheOlympian.
